Do pilots get paid monthly?
Chris,
I get paid bi-monthly. However, my paychecks are lopsided. The first check of the month is half of my minimum guarantee (min guarantee is 75 hours so half of that is 37.5). The second check of the month is the other half of my minimum guarantee plus per diem, hours flown over min guarantee, premium pay, paid vacation (if any), paid sick leave (if any) etc. There’s about a 25% difference between my paychecks.

Chris,
At Hawaiian it’s the same as Tory states except our “cleanup” check that has all our extras is the first check.
Adam
I get paid in the same manner as Tory.
Quick question, do you guys think pilot’s pay would decrease a little in the foreseeable future due to the whole Coronavirus thing.
Gloria,
Not at all. First the CARES bill that passed actually prohibits the airlines from lowering salaries or looking for concessions through Sept. Beyond that the industry will recover and there will still be a pilot shortage.
Adam
Gloria,
In the past, pilots did give pay concessions in difficult economic times. The difference between now and then is that during the last downturns there was an excess of pilots, now there is a shortage. This should help to maintain pilot wages.
