Hi im Gavin im currently 16 and and a junoir in high school.I am very intrested in joining atp but im concerned about some things.i want to go to atp right out of high school and i REALLY DO NOT WANT TO GO TO A 4 YEAR COLLEGE.i whould plan on going into atp with my ppl already when i look at those prerequisists for starting with ppl credit there lower that the zero time.i know that a 4 year degree is defenelty preffered but still not required.i was wondering what are the gpa requirements because they are not stated and does coming in with ppl give me a leg up on my application to atp.if i do make the gpa requirement and possibly the SAT and the PPL requirmet does that still give me a good shot at getting accepted.or will i not get accepted because of no college degree.
Gavin,
The ATP website clearly states the admission requirements and with your PPL you do not need a degree. However the page also states:
Note that admission to ATP is extremely competitive, and meeting the criteria above does not guarantee acceptance.
While there is no stated GPA there is a pre-admission interview and I have to be honest. Looking at your post your communication skills (spelling, grammar, etc) are very poor. Further many airlines require applicants to write an essay to demonstrate their comm and English skills and again yours would not be acceptable.
The good news is this is something you can improve with some hard work and something you need to focus on.

Gavin,
Welcome to the forum, it’s great that you’re starting to look ahead at a future. Below I’ve added two screenshots to help explain my view on your outlook.
If you are looking to attend ATP fresh out of high school (which we typically recommend attend some college prior), the prerequisites are more detailed. The difference between attending a program like ATP fresh out of high school compared to someone of some college study I view is maturity. Being able to handle the coursework and activities that go along with training, preparing for checkrides and eventually teaching the skill of flying is not something everyone can do. Now, I have seen and watched individuals that were right out of high school be successful, but note - it takes a lot of dedication and determination to do something like ATP’s ACPP. Below is a screenshot of the prerequisite which breaks down the Zero Time education:
Like Adam mentioned, if you obtained your PPL outside of ATP, that does not guarantee enrollment at ATP. You still must complete a Pre-Enrollment Interview in order for selection of the program.
There is plenty of time to discover and see what avenue you would like to go down. As I mentioned above, typically recommend some college before attending ATP, but we can’t control what anyone does - only offer advice. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist further.

Thank you for that information it seems like I can get in without college although its recomended I plan to have a 3.5 GPA out of hs. I feel I can take the workload of atp im driven to do it.
Gavin,
While you are still in high school, I would strongly encourage you to work on your writing, to include proper spelling, punctuation and capitalization. Part of how an airline evaluates prospective employees is through their written word skills, this will show in cover letters and even in how one fills out an application.
In part, airlines like to see a college degree because it generally shows that a person has a decent amount of education and will represent themselves well. The way you wrote your initial posts shows huge potential for improvement. I am not saying this to be difficult, but to really encourage you to think about how you portray yourself in your written word.
Chris
Thank you all for the advice and I will keep all of that in mind.
