I haven’t posted my schedule in a while since it doesn’t really change much (plus I only do 2-3 different trips), but figure it’s time for an update. A few months back I became a Line Check Airman (something I’ve been wanting to do for some time). The nice part is I get to bid my regular schedule and they yank the FOs off and replace them with OE pilots (both Intial and Upgrades). The challenging part for me is constantly switching between the Capt and the FO seat but I’m enjoying it very much. Busy month but keep in mind I was done by 1pm the latest and most days before noon soooo…
On a funny side note I started noticing a bunch of pilots “buddy bidding” me. While I think I’m a good guy to fly with I was confused as to the sudden popularity? Then I realized that EVERY pilot on my line was removed and pay protected for those days. It’s not that they wanted to fly with me, they didn’t want to fly at all!
