Hello everyone my name is Jhon, I am about to start my flight training with zero experience. There’s one thing that stresses me out. The medical exam because I have been taking ambien for more than 4 years now. Is that considered disqualifying? If I can stop taking ambien, what is the minimum months/yr it should be off from taking them before the FAA approves my medical examination. I appreciate your help

That’s a question for an AME (Aviation Medical Examiner). Only they can tell you for certain.

Well, it was a Saturday and most doctors do not work weekends.
