What Should I do Before ATP?

Hi everyone, I am graduating from the University of Minnesota in less than a month with plans to complete the ATP Accelerated Program. In order to be best prepared, would it make sense to complete certain FAA exams and Ground School to put me ahead of the curve? If so, which FAA exams and Ground School options do you recommend? Thanks for any advice you can share!

Bryce,

Here’s a link from the ATP website that lists the required exams and yes it’s a VERY good idea to complete as many (if not all) the exams you can.

With that in mind, as this information is on the ATP website and this question gets asked often, I recommend you spend some QT on both and do some reading. There’s a ton of useful information and suggestion in there.

Bryce,

I second Adam. Take as many writtens as possible before you start the program. This will be a huge help to you while in training. Having the exams complete means you can focus on your actual training.

Chris

Bryce,

I am with the others, if you have time to complete any writtens. Here’s a quick blurb about the writtens and a guide about them:

Other than that, ATP lays out the enrollment process for you, step-by-step.
