Before atp studying

What should I study/do before my first start date?

Adam

John,

Adam posted the link to the outline of what to do. My question is to you, when is your start date? Other than following the guide ATP prepares, we can’t offer any suggestion or ideas if your start date is tomorrow versus a month or more out…

Brady

It’s 2 months from now

John,

That should be enough time to knock out all of the day one tasks as well as a few written exams. Do your best to get as many done as possible. You will thank yourself later.

Ok thanks so much Hannah. Which written exams should I do and where do I find them at?

John,

Along with ATP’s “Getting Ahead by Completing Your Writtens,” we have an FAQ here on the forum which include a brief summary and overview of what a written is:

Thanks Brady I really appreciate it. Is sporty the best app I can use to get all the necessary information to pass all my written exams or is there something else I should use/do as well?

John,

When the time comes, studying for the writtens is best accomplished by rote memorization. Browse the forum a bit for “written test prep” and you’d find that all of the mentors (including myself) and graduates recommend rote memorization is the best method. For now, the PAR, Sporty’s Study Buddy App is the “best.” Once you begin actual training, you will learn the material in greater detail, covering all the topics and some from the written.

Ok thanks for the help

John,

If you’re starting zero time, the PAR is required to be completed before starting. If you’re starting credit private than the IRA needs to be completed. Any other exams past those points are icing on the cake. The more you can get done now, the less you have to worry about juggling while going through the program.
