Hi so I have ADHD, well I was diagnosed with it at a young age and I have been off the medication for years and I wanted to know is it common for pilots to have ADHD and will it become hard to become an airline pilot while having ADHD.
Dylan,
Your biggest obstacle will be getting your medical. You were diagnosed and were on medication so it must be reported and that will open the door for ALOT of questions and paperwork.
There are a number of threads on the subject.i suggest you do some searching for more info on the subject. That and have a consultation with an AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) in your area.
Adam
Dylan,
Only a FAA Medical Examiner can correctly answer that question. It would be best for you to schedule an appointment with one.
Chris
Dylan,
You will want to seek out an AME like Adam and Chris mentioned. You can find the nearest AME to you using the FAA’s list through this website link: https://www.faa.gov/pilots/amelocator/.
