Admission Flight

Paul,

That’s great, congrats on the solid scores - that will definitely make things easier in the long runs. Keep up the great scores, let us know how the remainders go.

Paul,

Great job! You’ve definitely put in a lot of work these last few weeks. Just the shorter exams to go! You’re on a roll.

You’ll thank yourself in a few months when you’re in the thick of the program that you don’t have to worry about any more exams.

@Pneufeld I’m a credit private student starting at KAPA on July 10th too! Paul, you motivated me to get my written exams out of the way. I wish I could knock all of them out, but the funds are tight right now because I have to save for my early termination fee for my apartment lease. @Brady How difficult is it to cram the written exams in the curriculum? Also, do the ATP Elevate videos/ sessions prepare you for the written exams? I might only be able to get the IRA out the way, and maybe the FII if I have the money.

Jahmal,

While getting the writtens done will lighten the load, it’s definitely not a requirement and you will have time during the program to do so.

The Elevate curriculum however will not help you. All training for the writtens is self-study using the Sheppard Air training guides.

Jahmal,

Nice! I can’t wait to meet you once we get started. I just took my CAX written today and scored a 94%. Sheppard Air really is the way to go. I was ready to take my commercial in about a week. The study software was only $40, but the written was $175. Nothing in aviation is cheap!

Jahmal,

I wouldn’t say it’s difficult to “cram the writtens” during the attendance at ATP, the program is built to have you complete them during your phases of training. Studying for the writtens is self-study and done at your own pace; however, it’s not required to have them completed prior to attendance, but July 10th is a decent time away that you could almost complete every single written before Day 1.

I’m unsure if Sheppard Air still does the bundle discount, but typically after you purchase one course you may get a 10% discount on the next. You would have to inquire them, it’s been years since I used their software prep for all the writtens.

It’s been 8 weeks since I took my admissions flight and I can report all 5 of my writtens are complete. Scored mid 90s on all. With 3 weeks left I’ll dive back into the private level of studying and get more familiar with the c172.

Paul,

This is great news, congratulations! Make sure to get those ATP Orientation videos and any Guided-Independent Study (GIS) modules completed before your Day 1.

Paul,

Wow, great job! That kind of pace is impressive. I think you will do very well in the ACPP. The Cessna supplement is a great place to focus your studies for the first day. If you can know all the V-speeds, limitations and the questions in the back you’ll be very well prepared.
