Hello, I am coming here because I would like to know up to what age the airlines hire first officers, I will tell you a little about myself. I am currently 38 years old, I am a foreign medical doctor, I obtained my green card and my dream has always been to be an airline pilot and I I would like to do a pilot career from 0 to obtain the ATP to work in airlines. I would like to know if my age is limiting so that I can be considered to be a first officer at 40 years of age.
The age question is literally the #1 question asked on this forum. 38 is far from too old (I actually started art 39 and I’m a Capt at a Major airline). That said you’re not young either so you need to start your training sooner than later.
Thanks Adam, I will be starting my program with ATP soon. I estimate it will be in March that I move to Orlando and try to get financing to make it more viable.
