Does having a bachelors and masters in anything before you start matter at all?

Having your BAs is great as it allows you to check that box. The Majors want one so if you do you simply have to worry about flight training. A masters on the other hand does not.

You do not need a college degree to begin flight training. The regionals do not require a college degree, the national airlines like Spirit and Frontier might and the legacy airlines like United absolutely require a degree. There are very few, if any, bonus points for having a master’s degree.
