I was just wondering what I could start doing to become a pilot. I am 13 years old.
George,
You need to be 15 to get a student pilot certificate but you can fly gliders at 14. Beyond that I recommend you contact your local Civil Air Patrol. They have a great program and will actually get you flying.

George,
The minimum age to hold a commercial pilot license is 18 and 21 for Airline Transport Pilot. The most important thing you can do is get good grades, go to college, and keep your record squeaky clean.

Thank you all
George,
hey I’m 15 and one program that has helped me get started is the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) you might want to check out their website https://www.eaa.org/eaa they have free discovery flights for young aviators. They have training scholarships for when you are older. When you take the discovery flight at a local airport he will get a packet for free Sporty’s Pilot Shop PPL video training along with other stuff. you will have to look for a chapter in your area. here is the link for some chapters in your state. https://www.eaa.org/eaa/eaa-chapters/find-an-eaa-chapter
Once in the chapter, you have the opportunity to volunteer at one of the airports with EAA also getting to know other pilots in your area.
Hope this helps,
Gabriel
