College/Transcript

Hey!!
So I decided to take y’all’s at advice and switch my major into real estate business and take ATP as soon as I graduate so I could have a back up career and also have a fast paced track into the airlines. I heard great things about ATP and learned so much thanks to everyone on this forum.

However I did have a question about how college works with the airlines. Do they ask to see your transcript and see your grades, or do you just need a bachelors degree in any major and that’s it?

If so they need to see your grades for all your college classes what’s a good GPA or grades to keep throughout college?

Thanks, Androu

Hey Androu!

It depends on the airline. Some want to see the transcript. Some don’t. If they do, your transcript will list every class you took, your grade for each, and your GPA. I can’t say for sure what airlines consider a “good” GPA, but I would guess anything above a 3.5.

PS. I like your choice of major. Very practical.

Androu,

Some Majors will ask for your transcript, others will not. Only thing I’ve heard for certain once was one airline had a min of 3.0.

Androu,

You should should for at least a 3.0, preferably 3.5 or higher. Any major will suffice, just make sure your degree is form a reputable school.

Androu,
Glad to hear the path you’re on. That major is a great back up option. No matter what happens, houses will continue to be bought and sold. Plus you get to create your own hours mostly…
Anyway, please keep us updated! Especially when your start date at ATP approaches.

Thank you!!! I plan on getting my finance bachelors degree with real estate concentration within the next 3 years and immediately go to ATP with a private license from my local flight school. My local school is gonna cost $7k for my private which will save me $21k from ATP and make it 5 months instead of 7 months. I will definitely keep y’all updated and thanks again I wouldn’t have made this decision without all your advice!

Sounds like a good plan! Just want to make sure you’re aware that starting credit private you need 78 hrs in the airplane. So the cost of private may be $7k but make sure you factor in the cost of the extra hours as well to start ATP credit private.
