Hey everyone! Here was my schedule for November. I needed specific days off early in the month to travel abroad to see family. So I ended up with a trip over Thanksgiving that I wasn’t able to move around. I was able to trade into a trip that ended with a deadhead, which I was then able to change to go see my parents vs returning to DFW. Spending Thanksgiving in Knoxville wasn’t too bad and I got some holiday pay out of it. It was a really easy month overall, with lots of time off. I was removed from an overnight on the 3rd because we would have exceeded our flight time limit. Then I was displaced off my third trip of the month for IOE purposes and I wasn’t reassigned.

I still have a bid preference for DFW CA in right now. They just aren’t awarding CA slots in DFW and probably won’t until some guys flow or leave. They have been offering monthly LOA’s and zero time lines in DFW, so I’m guessing they’re still overstaffed. A few people from my class have been awarded ORD CA slots, but I don’t particularly have a desire to be displaced there when I still have an apartment in DFW. They were also supposed to run a vacancy/displacement bid this fall/winter, but they never did. So really I’ll just wait and see what happens, I’m guessing early next year I’ll either be displaced to ORD or get a DFW slot
How does base transfers work at Envoy? Could you take an ORD CA slot initially and work for the base transfer through training or shortly after? Commuting isn’t great but if it’s only temporary….
This is certainly a possibility as well. People will begin to flow to AA in January and there will be movement again, but in a couple of months if nothing happens I will probably take an ORD CA vacancy and just bid back to DFW when I can.
Whilst the number isn’t official, I have been hearing around 16 per month is the expectation for the beginning of 2025. Could be more, could be less. I guess it depends on the size of new hire classes at AA.
