SkyWest Rotor Transition Program

My husband is a UH-60 pilot in the Army National Guard and considering transitioning to the airlines on the civilian side. I am trying to get a good understanding of how the SkyWest Rotor Transition Program works (he’s still working full time so I’m trying to gather research to relay).
Does he enroll in flight school at ATP and then apply directly with SkyWest for that program?
It looks like military aviators only need 750 hours, so he would only need 500 fixed wing hours on top of his 250 rotary hours, correct? Does anyone know approximately how long it would be between starting flight school and getting hired at SkyWest with this program?
Thanks!

Kristen,

You’d be better served contacting SkyWest first and getting the details from them.

ATP is a SkyWest Partner but at your husbands stage the program really wouldn’t work for him.

Kristen,

It sounds like he already has all of his ratings so flight school is not necessary. He would simply apply to the program and have a logbook review. If he meets the time or is close to meeting the time, he would be eligible for an interview. If he is significantly short on fixed wing time, he may need to build some time on his own renting an aircraft.

Kristen,

Does your husband have any of his fixed wing ratings? Regardless, I suspect that your husband is past the point where ATP would be a good fit for him, he simply needs to convert his ratings to fixed wing and then start building flight time.

Iw Ould reach out to SkyWest directly with questions. I would recommend that he call SkyWest, they probably will not be too keen on speaking with somebody other than the potential applicant.

Thanks everyone! Looks like having him contact SkyWest is the next step. I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t some obvious information we were missing before taking that step.
