I finally took the leap of faith and enrolled at the Austin location with a tentative start in Jan 2021. Long story short I’ve been in the Airline industry for 5 years as a FA for United, after much deliberation decided to take my career to the next level. I’ve had to overcome a lot of challenges to get to this point and now feel confident I can do this. I started on my FAA Knowledge Tests, currently doing PAR Kings School course.
I just want to say thank you to all the current Pilots and students that are encouraging others like myself to continue on this path to career as an Airline Pilot. I believe it’s important to share success and make a positive impact on the people around you and the Aviation community does just that.
My wife and I are relocating from Nevada to Austin. It would be great to connect with anyone in that area. Cheers!
When are you relocating? Austin’s a great place to live, although in the city can be an expensive place to do it (I’ve lived in Austin for 20 year, long enough to see our house prices more than double). I highly recommend north of the city to cut back on cost squite significantly (and the location is actually in Georgetown, which is, depending on traffic, anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours from downtown Austin). I’ll be starting at the Austin location Monday.
@parc Fortunately someone in my family has a rental they’re allowing us to stay in at least during the program. We will have to find our own place after so your advice is much appreciated. As for when we are relocating, going to be sometime later this year, don’t have an exact date yet.
Very cool and welcome to Austin! I had a tentative start date at KGTU on 5.9 p, but Covid guidelines at the school I’m finishing my private license pushed my check ride out. I’ll likely be starting ATP early June. Looking forward to meeting everyone! Happy to sit down with y’all for some study sessions too when it makes sense.

Hey Dennis, I’m currently attending the Austin Location and Love it. It’s a good school. I’m almost finished with my PPL phase. If you’re looking for housing after school Killeen is 45 minutes North of the school but at a fraction of the costs. That’s where I’m living.
