Hello, I’m new here. I am trying to get into a flight school, but before I can interview I have to take an aptitude test. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to prepare for an aptitude test?
Thanks,
Kemper
Kemper,
There is really no way to prepare for an aptitude test, it is just a screening used for employment (or in this case, enrollment for flight school). You might see topic of subjects ranging from rote memorization, cognitive thinking, multitasking, etc. For my one interview skills assessment (aptitude test) I had to figure out a direction of arrow, while computing simple math (add/subtract) and figure out if there was duplicate numbers.
I did a quick Google search on “aptitude test” and Investopedia quoted:
An aptitude test is an exam used to determine an individual’s skill or propensity to succeed in a given activity . Aptitude tests assume that individuals have inherent strengths and weaknesses and have a natural inclination toward success or failure in specific areas based on their innate characteristics.
Brady
Kemper,
ap·ti·tude (noun): a natural ability to do something. Suitability.
As Brady said, that’s really the point of an aptitude test, to see if you have the “aptitude” for a certain job, school, etc. If it were something you could study or prepare for, then it wouldn’t test your “aptitude”.
