ATP Flight School references

Hello, guys, how are you?

got a question, I’ve heard people giving negative references about the school, saying that the lack of examiners and also sometimes people leaving the program

To be honest I just want to get enrolled and go through the pilot airline program, the question is, do I have to have credit to get the Study Loan?

I’m just doing my research in order to make a good decision since we are dealing with a high investment, the idea is to be avoid any misunderstanding and get into a healthy school that’s providing for what I’ll pay for.

just trying to find out what I need to know, that if I choose this school, I know that I will not have any future problems with ATP.

what’s the real cost by having PPL till the end of the program?

I would appreciate the your reply and guidance on this journey

Greetings

John,

Doing well, thanks. How are you?

Must be social media, ironically as I briefly opened my Facebook, I was greeted by a reel of someone saying how they didn’t attend a flight school that costed them $100k… I thought, “cool, why’s Facebook putting this on my algorithm.” I since then closed out of the app on my phone and have yet to reopen.

When you complete ATP’s program if you don’t have any collegiate credits, you can apply to a few of ATP’s partnered Universities to obtain some collegiate credits for a degree through online schooling. To find more information on that:

ATP has three entry points: Zero Time, Solo Flight, and Credit Private. To give you an absolute financial figure at the cost of the private phase, that is something the Finance Department would have to assist you with. We don’t know.

The only way to know whether a flight school is for you, is by visiting it, conducting a tour, and doing an introductory/admission flight. While it’s great you’re doing the research, have you conducted an intro flight or have flight experience? I’m also not quite sure what you are referring to by Study Loan, unless you’re referring to the Merit Loan?

yes, I was referring to the loan itself that you guys offer
and about your question on my flight experience, I have none, that’s why I’ve created this account because I got you in my thoughts and I want to work with major airlines in the future, I see no other goal

Mr. Brady when you mentioned about getting the credits from a partner like universities you meant that do I have to get enrolled with the U program to so the credit are displayed in ATP system in order to be approved for the loan?

John,

A few things. ATP has been training pilots for the airlines for 40yrs. They’ve had over 25,000 hired by the airlines over this time (over 1,100 hired in the last 12mos alone). That’s the good news, the bad news is not everyone can or should be an airline pilot. Many of us grew up being told “you can be whatever you want when you grow up” but the reality is that’s simply not true. Flying isn’t rocket science or brain surgery but it does require a level of intelligence and coordination that not everyone has. With that in mind its much easier (on their egos) to blame ATP for their failures than it is to accept the fact the problem is they failed themselves. There is no guarantee you’ll be successful and no one can promise you won’t have any “future problems”. Flight training is difficult and ATPs accelerated timeline makes it even more challenging. What I can tell you is if you have issues, it won’t be ATPs fault

As for loans, ATP doesn’t offer loans. They have financial partners who they work with to help perspective students get loans for training. If you’re not sure if you can qualify, you should contact ATP finance dept and have a conversation. They can offer you the best guidance.

Finally the cost of the program is $108,995 (plus examiners fees and possible location surcharges). That’s the REAL price, it’s fixed and will not change once you’re approved and select a class date.
