Weight/ Progress Updates

Hey guys, July update, things are going pretty good. Not much has changed since the last update. I just drove 9 hours by my self to Knoxville, TN to fly in a 1927 bi plane. That was way cooler than flying in a Cessna haha. Also flew in a helicopter because why not.

As far as my weight goes, everything is going slow honestly. Not much has changed since last month. I feel WAY better than I did a while back, but I can’t get used to staying the same. I think I am going to try a liquid only diet. (Basically just meal shakes and water)

I think I might just buy the full king air course now so I can get jump started on the writtens. Still very excited about what is coming in the future, and again, thank all of you for the support.

(It’s not letting me type it with paragraphs) Hey guys, August 7th update. This month has been an absolute game changer. It’s just like something clicked. I am down so 286 now. It just feels like I got fed up with myself always letting myself down, and it just got to me. I’ve started going to the gym way more and I entered a challenge to win $10,000 if I win. So my head is all the way straight and I’m chugging. This month has absolutely flown by. I am 7 days late on this update. Oops. I think I may change my mind on Nashville. I’ve been thinking about one of the Denver locations. I don’t know why, but just thinking. Overall, very happy with this last month, and this next month will be even better.
P.s. I heard this quote earlier this week and I think I want to share it.

Evan,

Always a pleasure to read these updates, glad you’re coming along and sticking to your heart. Keep up the great work and always be looking forward.

An update that’s a few days “late” is an update that’s better than no update.

Evan,
Its been a hot minute since I have been here, (mostly due to the CFI stage), but it is awesome to log back on and see you’re progressing at a spectacular rate! Keep up the amazing work and know that we are all rooting for you on here! And hey, maybe I just might see you in Denver!

Evan!

Stumbled on your posts today and all I can say is wow!! You are 18yrs old - do you realize how special you are? Your drive, determination and willingness to overcome and succeed is really motivating. We’re all struggling with something- yours is weight, mine is taking this risk at my age. Two totally different challenges yet both require the same thing - COURAGE! You’re killing Evan. Top that off with the kindness, support and great advice from the pilots who help us on this forum, I think we’re gonna make it!

Hey guys, September 1st update. Currently at 275 pounds!! Down 11 pounds down since last update. 25 pounds to go. I’m definitely not going to stop at 250 though, and I know there is still a lot of work to get there. Very happy about that.

A couple weeks ago I had an interview to work at ATP as a training support specialist. I didn’t get the job, but was told to reapply in January after this semester of college. I really feel that this is a very good option for me. I will get to understand what the students go through and will be way more prepared for the stressful program than I am now. The lower interest rate is also a very nice perk.

I am still very excited about my future whether I’m going to college for 4 years or straight to ATP. Again, thank you all for the advice, words of encouragement, and everything else! It’s crazy how fast all these months fly by. Cant wait till the next update.

Hey Evan!

Sounds like you’re having a good few months and progressing nicely. Love the positivity! Kind of funny how that is right? Do well and other things also start to fall in place.

Thanks for the update and keep up the great work.

You are well on your way, Evan! This is cause for celebration, in my opinion.

I am very proud of you for not allowing those few tough months discourage you from giving up on your goal. This is a valuable lesson to prepare you for the potential challenges of flight training.

Hey guys, October 1st update. This month has been the usual. I’ve got over a 95% in all of my college classes, and all of that is going good.

I entered into a body transformation challenge 8 weeks ago. The are 5 male winners with the prizes from $2,000 to $10,000. I think I might actually have a good shot at getting in top 5.

My current weight is 272. This month has been pretty slow on the actual weight loss, but I definitely am losing the fat and gaining muscle. This made me realize that I really want to reach the 250 pound goal first before I even worry about adding extra muscle or adding food to my diet to do good in the gym. What I’ve been doing is working, and I really don’t want to mess it up.

Again, thank you all for the support, and I cant wait until the next update!

I was actually at 350 pounds about 2 months before I made the first post. I really wish I had taken a picture of myself on the scale back then, haha.

Hey guys, November update. Things are going good. Down to 266. I still plan on applying for the training support specialist position at ATP in December. I think I will choose the Kansas City location, but I’m not 100% sure yet. I’ve got mostly all A’s in my college classes. Everything’s good. Can’t wait until the next update.
