Well that’s a hard question to answer. Not many airline pilots go online and post which school they went to. This is an ATP centered website so I’m sure many are biased towards ATP, and I am definitely considering joining. However, ATP isn’t the only flight school to produce pilots. As to answer your question, no pilots have gone online and stated they’ve went to Liberty, however numerous website report that it ranks among the top flight universities and does have a lot of affiliate airlines partnered with them. Maybe not as many as ATP, but ATP isn’t a college. You aren’t getting a degree from ATP, it’s just a flight school.
You definitely seem very biased against anything other than ATP unless you’re looking at spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for schooling and flight training like Embry Riddle. Nothing wrong with having a favorite, but you can’t say that nothing else works when that’s certainly not true.
Not sure from my question where you’re getting that I’m biased (I most definitely am) but I’m not sure I’m as biased as you are defensive?
As for my bias it’s not because I participate on ATPs forum, it’s because I’m a grad who went on to become a successful airline pilot and honestly don’t think I would be where I am had it not been for ATP.
Another reason I’m a fan of ATP (and this forum) is because they don’t use sales people (nor do they expect us to act as one). I’ve been on this forum longer than you’ve been alive and I’ve always been honest that ATP was best for me but definitely isn’t for everyone and there are of course other options.
What I can also tell you as a Capt and Check Airman for a Major airline, someone who’s participated in hiring and also someone who literally knows hundreds of pilots, I’ve never met a single one who graduated from Liberty. Not one. As for their grads not coming back to report that’s nonsense. Trust me, if they had any, the school itself would be advertising it. Like it or not ATP has placed over 1,000 pilots at the airlines in the last 12mos alone and tens of thousands over the years. That’s not a sales pitch, it’s a fact and it proves the program works. Does that mean you won’t be successful? No it doesn’t but you can’t discount ATPs reputation or proven history by simply calling me “biased”.
It’s quite easy to see your bias, or blatant disrespect towards other schools, when you say “I’ve looked without luck to find if Liberty has a SINGLE successful airline pilot graduate”. I’m also not defending anything or anyone. I’ve got no reason to defend a place I don’t go to or have affiliation with. Also, I never denied that ATP is a great school as you’re trying to make it seem in your last few sentences. I have heard and seen great things about ATP and am considering going there depending on what I do with college. I never tried to discount ATP by calling you biased, I called you biased because it is true. You said so yourself. All I tried to say, is that ATP isn’t the only school in America that produces great airline pilots and a path I’m interested in is with Liberty or Purdue and all I’m trying to do is get information. No disrespect. No discrediting. Not sure where you got that I was doing either of those things, or being “defensive”. I’m sorry If I’ve offended you, I am simply just a person looking for the best information they can get for their future.
Sooooo, just so I’m clear, I never mentioned ATP flight school once ever in this thread (until you called me out) BUT by me asking the question if Liberty has had a single successful grad that makes me biased and disrespectful? Got it.
It’s certainly not a disrespectful question, I just believe it’s the way it came across and was written. At the end of my response, I believe I said I was sorry if I had offended you because that was not my intent. You said that I was “defending” liberty which is 100% not the case, I just wanted to hear your reasoning behind your response. I never said anything against you or ATP. I don’t want to argue with anyone on this chat because it is my dream to one day become like you guys and I have the upmost respect for what you’ve done and worked for.
You came on here asking for advice. When you did not get the advice you wanted, you proceeded to argue with that advice. You are very convinced of your own maturity, yet this thread showcases exactly why we recommend people wait until they are a bit older to begin flight training. This thread is locked, it is time for us to move along.
