Minimum Age

What is the minimum age to obtain an r-atp, therefore making you eligible to be an airline pilot? I have heard you may only get your r-atp at 21 if you are 1) a military pilot, 2) a graduate of a part 141 approved aviation bachelor’s degree program or 3) a graduate of a part 141 approved associates degree program. Though, is it possible to get your r-atp at 21 if you go to a school like atp assuming you have 1500 hours?

Thanks

Robert,

The reg is kind of confusing the way they list the various provisions. The answer is yes you can get your R-ATP at 21 if you have not attended a university program or the military provided you have the requires 1500hrs. Good question.
